It’s New Year and this is how I feel right now: Like the lyric of ‘feeling good’ by Michael Bublé
Birds flying high// You know how I feel
Sun in the sky // You know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by // You know how I feel
It’s a new dawn, It’s a new day, It’s a new life, For me
And I’m feeling good// I’m feeling good
Fish in the sea // You know how I feel
River running free // You know how I feel
Blossom on a tree // You know how I feel
It’s a new dawn, It’s a new day, It’s a new life, For me
And I’m feeling good
Dragonfly out in the sun // You know what I mean, Don’t you know?
Butterflies all havin’ fun // You know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done// That’s what I mean
And this old world, Is a new world, And a bold world
For me, For me
Stars when you shine // You know how I feel
Scent of the pine // You know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine // And I know how I feel
It’s a new dawn // It’s a new day // It’s a new life
It’s a new dawn // It’s a new day // It’s a new life
It’s a new dawn // It’s a new day // It’s a new life
It’s a new life // For me //And I’m feeling good
I’m feeling good //I feel so good //I feel so good
Yeah……
I’m feeling good right now. The New Year holds so many promises and I’m so optimistic. It really promises to be a good year and these are 5 great little things to do this year.
1 Keep a journal
Keep tabs on the good things that will happen to you this year, write down your progress and achievements and start from the very first month, this helps you be expectant of good things. Remember, nothing is too small to write down; your journal can contain something trivial as getting a lift to the office. It will keep you in a grateful mood through the year as you begin to see reason to be grateful and watch your progress and achievements. Writing them down as they happen saves you the stress of having to keep them in memory. The shortest pen is sharper than the longest memory.
2 Plan to take breaks
As you plan the year, be intentional about planning vacations too, like twice in a year. It should not necessarily be a trip out of your country, or any form of expensive vacation. You can take a break by going to the beach, cinema houses, or an island not too far away. Do something relaxing, go to a spa, get a makeover or anything that makes you relaxed and forget about work for those days … it could even be for the weekend or during your Annual Leave. Try to split the leave into two. Take each during the half of the year and toward the end of the year. Be deliberate about taking a break. This gives you something to look forward to. There is an excitement that comes when you have something to look forward to, it affects even the quality of the work you do. Knowing a vacation is coming soon, gives you a glow. And counting down to the days definitely give you a reason to wake up and go to office. And when you resume, you have a kind of freshness to you that makes you ready to face the rest of the year.
3 Celebrate your progress
When you make progress or achieve anything in the course of the year, no matter how little, like losing a little weight, passing an exam, getting your driver license; please celebrate yourself. Take yourself out, give yourself nice treats, buy something new, get an oil treatment, manicure/pedicure, and whatever else will makes you feel and look good as a way of celebrating your progress. Just do it, because if you don’t celebrate you, no one else will. When you celebrate little progress, it gives room for the bigger ones to come and it also gives you a sense of achievement for the year. Celebrate YOU!
4 Be positive and expectant
Good things come to those who expect good things to come to them, just like bad things come to people who expect it. As you go through the year, expect positive things to happen to you. Expect surprises each day you wake up; expect favors and you will get them.
Chose to be an optimist this year, be positive and don’t entertain any negative thought. Things will turn out well this year.
5 Write your testimonies ahead of time.
This is one thing I did this year, I imagined it’s already 31st of December, and I’ve already written out my testimonies for the year, leaving room for surprises. As far as God is concerned, 2018 is done and dusted. I pasted my testimony note on my wardrobe where I can see it every morning as I dress up for the day. I want to watch them as they begin to happen because by God’s grace I know they will. You should join me and do same as we begin to thank God in advance for the great things he will do for us this year.
Indeed eyes have not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for us that love him. 1Cor 2: 9
It will surely be a great year.
Keep winning!
